Red & White Ball Table Design
In 2014, the Metro North Chapter of the American Red Cross held the annual Red Cross Red & White Ball at the NetJets Hangar at Westchester County Airport. The space was transformed by extravagant tabletops decorated by talented designers including Lisa Davenport Designs.
This year’s tablescape exemplifies how the American Red Cross rises from the ashes providing hope, comfort and security to communities and individuals.
A bare Manzanita tree in a cement base is displayed on a rich grey ombré tablecloth, symbolizing the rise from destruction. Flowers climb the tree, imitating flames, including a few simple roses that act as a symbol of love. As the Manzanita grows and ascends, life and power return to it. Glass globes filled with rose petals and tea lights signify the beacon of light that the American Red Cross has been for so many.
A simple and understated Red Cross symbol is represented in the sheer table runner, finished with a red grosgrain ribbon. Each place setting features simple white china, flatware, glassware and linens with custom napkin rings. As a surprise parting gift, each guest received custom designed cookies featuring the iconic Red Cross logo and signature Lisa Davenport Designs medallion.
